UNO!

Don't ding me on the technicalities, please...I've been reading about and studying the Paleo/Primal lifestyle for several months now and I'm no pro. So this journey on which I am about to embark is happening for several reasons. One, the obvious one, I want better health. I've tried the low-carb, low-fat thing. Yikes. Starving all day and not losing the weight I should have been considering I was in misery. Two, I'm trying to heal myself of my asthma. It's an expensive and annoying illness and frankly, I'm ready to be finished with it. Three, I like bacon. I don't need to explain myself there.

I read once that if you don't try this lifestyle for at least 30 days, you are doing yourself a disservice. I can't say that I've ever done much of anything (other than exercise) at 100% of effort for 30 days. At 27, that's kind of a buzz-kill to have to say. So I really want to do this for perhaps a bit of a confidence boost. Reason number four.

I still live in a one stop light county (yes, COUNTY), so it's a little more difficult for me to get grass-fed beef, etc. I'm just going to have to try my best to buy organic and local until we move to a bigger town (hopefully within the next few weeks!). I will likely write down what I've eaten some days and others I won't. I will likely write about how I feel physcially and mentally. I might take pictures of the progress of my body. So basically, who knows what you'll get out of reading this blog. Selfishly, it's mostly for my benefit. ;)
